We had looked at several film distributors when considering which company would work best for our genre and type of film.
We decided to go with Fox Searchlight Pictures due to the fact that it specialises in independent and British films, as well as art house films. When researching art house films
we found it interesting that they were very much focused on aesthetics - something that we plan to do. They don't tend to have high budgets or huge advertising campaigns.
We decided not to use Universal Pictures because the films they had distributed were quite high budget and big blockbusters, we were aiming at a more niche market.
We decided not to use eOne Films because the majority of the types of films they had distributed were not the genre we are doing, they tended to be more action films.
We decided not to use 20th Century Fox because again the genres tended to be actions and comedies rather than romance and drama.
